It’s fun, actually. Cooking with your kids. My kids love cooking, especially my son, Logan. He’s been in my kitchen since he was about four. Standing on stools, covered in an apron and oven mitts “to here”. My daughter, Zoe, well she is more of a restaurant manager. She is just like Mommy.

Stop! Don’t hire a contractor yet!

Well hello there! If you have been following my social media for the last week or so, you have noticed that we are putting on a one hour class to teach the public how to get a proper contract and good financing for their renovations. Why? You ask, would we do this?

I guess the truth is, that both Jonathan (handsome guy in photo above), and I are very nice people. Hah! It’s true. And these two very nice people are very very tired of seeing other very nice people get into financial trouble with shady businesses.

Santa’s Bedroom Design and a Handy Husband!

Well, last year Santa gave us the task of working on his living room design. I think we did a great job. You can see the feed on our instagram from December 2015…

Be a Clever Homeowner

To renovate or not to renovate? Well, let’s look at some stats, shall we? This is an average of what you will get back if you renovate.  To be honest, it’s very timid. In my experience, kitchens and bathrooms bring you almost 100% return on investment. AND, the overall value of your home goes up if it’s awesome as opposed to okay. AND, you sell quicker, much MUCH quicker. AND, 1 last thing….renovations should end up costing you less than moving. We are booked with renovations consistently all year round. It’s great for business. So why am I so angry???

Mid-Town Toronto Residence Part 1

It was  March of 2013 when I received the call from a young couple, referred to us by a great client.  They had just purchased a semi-detached home in mid-town Toronto that was in urgent need of a renovation.  Urgent, you see, because their baby was due around July 26th, and they wanted to move in at least two weeks before the little one was born.  That meant, that we had to be done the renovation within about four months, and we hadn’t even met yet!
